Artist's Comments

This painting was a graduation gift to me by my step-father who is a very well known artist up here in Alaska.

It was made with acrylic paint on canvas, but when the picture was taken the colors lost a lot of their vibrance so I gave it an Auto Color adjustment in Photoshop to bring back its original shine.

This painting was made off of a box art image from a computer game called Homeworld. (beautiful game... check it out sometime!)

Sorry for the low-quality. The game is 6 years old so a good picture is hard to find nowadays.

Yar-har, Fiddle-dee-dee! Being a pirate is alright to be! Do what you want, 'cause a pirate is free! You are a pirate!
oh freakin WOW!
I've always wanted to do a HW painting... this one is so good.

BTW HW2 is even more beautiful than the original. check it out.
...this picture is so breath taking.
So detailed...
I envy Jake's artowork and I look up to him as an artist.
I someday wish to be as skillfull and a great artist as he.

From what you've shown me...the cover of Homework...it's a striking resemblance.

I love the detail and the colors.
I know, as an artist, that this artwork would have taken many hours to have done...
*stares for a moment*

END TRANSMISSION
Already have it. I'm more nostalgic though, and I loved the original story. HW2 has awesome graphics and a great gameplay system. I'll give it that.

You'll get to that level in time.
And it took Jake 30 hours to complete it, btw. Check out the link to see the resemblance, it's incredible!

Tell your father he did a real awsome job on this homeworld painting. I love it.
awsome

hate destroys the soul of anyone who tries to teach it
It's as though Chris Foss himself, who's designs inspired Homeworld, came back and did Homeworld...

Absolutely love it.
